Las Vegas, CTIA Wireless, 07 Apr 06 - ShoZu, the market’s smartest one-click image sharing solution for camera phones, this week was named the first-place winner of the Wireless Emerging Technologies Award at CTIA WIRELESS 2006 in the mobile entertainment application category. Products were judged on innovation, functionality, technological importance, ease of use and implementation, and the overall “wow” factor.
“This award reflects both the five years of R&D that have gone into ShoZu and the rapidly rising demand for an easy way to share camera phone images, fueled in part by the proliferation of photo and video sharing sites,” said ShoZu CEO Mark Bole. “The judges clearly recognized the growing importance of picture messaging as a means of communication and community building, the key role of camera phones in this movement, and the advantages of our technology in providing single-click image sharing directly from the handset.”
ShoZu is a free-to-download application that allows users to share camera phone images more easily, quickly and at higher resolution than any other alternative including other uploader solutions, MMS, wireless email and phone-to-PC transfer. Images can be sent to photo sharing communities such as Buzznet, Flickr, Kodak EasyShare Gallery, Textamerica and Webshots; secondary destinations such as Snapfish and Blip.tv; personal blog sites such as Blogger, Typepad and Wordpress; and citizen-contributed photo galleries like CNN, the BBC and Scoopt. In contrast, most similar services support only a single photo sharing service.
The Wireless E-tech Awards program is designed to give industry recognition and exposure to the best wireless products and services in the areas of consumer, enterprise and network technology. Nearly 200 applications were submitted and reviewed by a panel comprised of media, industry analysts, executives and select show attendees.
“We are extremely proud of the e-Tech awards program and continually amazed at the level of ingenuity present in the submissions,” said Robert Mesirow, vice president and show director for CTIA WIRELESS. “On behalf of CTIA, we congratulate ShoZu on this accomplishment and look forward to their continued innovation in the field of consumer mobile applications.”
