ShoZu is nominated for GSM Award
for Best Mobile Messaging Service

London, UK, 17 Jan 06 - The 2006 GSM Association Awards has announced today that ShoZu, the mobile image sharing service, has been nominated for the Best Mobile Messaging award category for this year’s 3GSM event, which takes place in Barcelona next month.

Offering his congratulations to ShoZu on being nominated for the award, Rob Conway, CEO of the GSM Association said:
‘The 2006 GSM Association Awards have been specifically designed to showcase the diversity of products and services and the quality, ingenuity and level of innovation that combine to fuel the mobile value chain.’

Innovation

Web users have welcomed the free ShoZu application, as it enables images and videos created by cameraphones to be easily uploaded to on-line sharing sites such as Flickr, Textamerica and Webshots. ShoZu does not aim to create its own community of users, but rather mobilize third party sites such as photo/video blogging, pod/video casting and other online media services. This spares the user the hassle of using multiple vendors and applications, creating a complete, connected and totally interactive user experience.

ShoZu is a direct-to-consumer service provided by Cognima Ltd. Behind the ShoZu service is Cognima’s powerful replication engine that maintains synch between the phone and a ShoZu server enabling end-users to get images and other content on and off mobile phones easily and reliably.

Mark Bole, CEO of Cognima, commented:
‘I am delighted ShoZu has been nominated for a GSM Association award as it both mirrors and validates the fantastic feedback that we have been receiving from our users.’

‘By maintaining the key differentiators of engaging with online communities; working closely with handset manufacturers to embed ShoZu; and helping mobile network operators to co-market a fast growing data-orientated service that drives network usage, we are creating a powerful gateway that is eliminating the boundaries between phone and web.’

Bole added: ‘Through its commitment to being intuitive, open, robust and affordable, ShoZu has managed to stake its claim within this space within a few short months. We will be steadily increasing the range of partners and services offered by ShoZu and will continue to extend our leadership in mobilizing online communities.’

The Awards

The Mobile Messaging Award highlights the very best of business and consumer messaging services, however and wherever they are delivered.

‘Entries this year have again exceeded our highest expectations, reflecting the vibrancy of the mobile industry on a global basis’, added Conway.

The winners will be announced at the GSM Association Awards black tie Gala Dinner – Tuesday 14th February 2006, Barcelona, Spain.
