ShoZu enables two-way sharing
between mobile phone and web

Interactive two-way sharing and address book back-up option added to the ShoZu service

London, UK, 09 Feb 06 - ShoZu, the smartest and most affordable way to share content using mobile phones, today announces the addition of new features. The free-to-download ShoZu mobile phone application, which allows users to share full quality images and video content with their chosen online community, is enhanced with two-way interactive comment sharing and online contact management.

ShoZu now keeps users continually updated with comments that people have posted on their photo-blogs by delivering these straight to their phone. In addition, users will now be able to synchronize their entire mobile phone address book with their ShoZu account, meaning contacts are held securely online and updated every time they connect. A user can edit or add contacts from their personal secure ShoZu account or from their handset, safe in the knowledge that it will be automatically updated at the other end.

These enhancements further strengthen ShoZu’s reputation. It is fast becoming the application of choice for the increasing number of people who want a smart and affordable way to share their experiences online via their mobile phone.

Mark Bole, CEO, said:
‘ShoZu is mobilizing the online social phenomenon by allowing people a simple and hassle-free way of interacting with their chosen online community using their mobile phone. We strive to listen carefully to our users and partners, and these new features are in response to that feedback.’

New features for ShoZu:

  • automatically synchronize photo comment threads from the web for reading on users’ phones
  • automatically synchronize users’ phone address books with their secure personal account at ShoZu.com
  • change image titles on users’ phones before or after upload
  • rotate images on users’ handsets before or after upload
  • allows titles, descriptions and tags to be added before sending from the camera application
  • easier tagging of images on the phone

Buzznet joins the ShoZu network

The update coincides with the announcement that the video, photo and journal based online social network, Buzznet.com, has become the latest web community to sign-up to ShoZu. From today, Buzznet members will now be able to upload photos and videos directly from their mobile phone to their Buzznet photoblog at the click of a button.

Marc Brown, President of Buzznet said, ‘Buzznet’s philosophy lies in keeping things simple and easy to use, which is why we are delighted to be able to offer ShoZu to our members. Its user-friendly interface and functionality almost disguises the power of the software application, and we were impressed with the way that ShoZu was able to quickly and efficiently mobilize our Buzznet community.’

ShoZu’s popularity within its growing user base has already caught the attention of the mobile industry, as the service has been nominated for the Best Mobile Messaging award category for this year’s 3GSM event, which takes place in Barcelona next week* The 2006 GSM Association Awards have been specifically designed to showcase the diversity of products and services and the quality, ingenuity and level of innovation that combine to fuel the mobile value chain.
