In our view, simply designing a version of an interactive website for a mobile browser doesn't create a good user experience on a phone because:
Mobilising Web 2.0 services requires a different kind of technology to create a good user experience. ShoZu’s patented data replication technology is designed to do exactly this. It enables a client application on the phone to synchronize data quietly in the background with one or many websites, via an intermediary gateway server. The ease of use made possible by ShoZu’s technology is unique to the market. It can be used to support applications such as video and photosharing, RSS feeds, podcasting, MP3 download, and device management. The technology fully supports uploads and downloads, and can deal with both user-generated content and commercial media.
Our core philosophy lies in the continual innovation and development of technology which overcomes the barriers to effective and profitable mobile services.
ShoZu
is our direct-to-consumer service, built on our patented data replication technology. ShoZu enables end users to get videos, photos, music and other types of content on and off their mobile phones easily, efficiently and reliably, without interrupting normal use of the phone. ShoZu users can do the same things they normally do on their favorite online video and photosharing sites and web RSS readers, but from an optimized environment on the mobile phone. Specifically, ShoZu lets users publish and share their own content (videos ad photos) from their phones to the web, and receive third-party content from the web on their phone.
Data is transferred between the ShoZu handset application and the ShoZu server (hosted by ShoZu), which then synchronizes data with third-party websites (such as Buzznet, Flickr, Kodak EasyShare Gallery, Webshots and many others).
