Logo Transfer status screen

This applies to ShoZu 3.X & 4.0 Smartphone edition and ShoZu 4.0 Java edition only.

Whenever ShoZu connects to send or receive data it also updates your feed subscriptions, comments and any new sites we might have added for you to use. If your connection drops out, ShoZu automatically pauses and resumes as necessary. Transfers can be monitored at all times:

  • From the menu click Go to > Transfer status
  • Simply click the Transfers button.
This applies to ShoZu 3.X and 4.0 Smartphone edition only.

Status:
Tells you when you are transferring, when you are not transferring ("Activated"), which access point you are using, if there are any errors, if you are roaming and if transfers are paused.

This applies to ShoZu 4.0 Java edition only.

Status:
Tells you when you are transferring, when you are not transferring ("Activated") and if transfers are paused.

Waiting to upload:
Total number of photos and videos waiting to send.

Waiting to download:
Total number of feed items waiting to download.

Waiting to upload:
Total number of photos and videos waiting to send.

Waiting to download:
Total number of feed items waiting to download.

Weekly download limit:
Shows how much of your feed download limit is remaining, if you have one set.

Data transfers:
Total amount of data sent and received this month.

Logo Pause and resume transfers

If you do not want ShoZu sending and receiving data you can pause transfers, then resume when you're ready:

This applies to ShoZu 3.x &4.0 Smartphone edition and ShoZu 4.0 Java edition only.

  • From the menu click Go to > Transfer status
  • From the menu click Go to > Transfer status

This applies to ShoZu 1.7 Smartphone edition and ShoZu 1.7 &3.X Java edition only.

  • From the menu click Settings > Transfers
  • From the menu click Settings > Transfers
  • Select Pause or Resume from the menu

Logo Access points

Access point names (APNs) contain information about how your phone connects to the Internet. You can generally choose any one you wish to use with ShoZu (data, Internet, WAP, WiFi) except for the MMS one, and organize them in your order of preference:

  1. From the menu click Settings > Advanced > Access points
  2. Select Add access point from the menu
  3. Add as many as you like
  4. Select Move from the menu to adjust the order that ShoZu will attempt these

Tip: Set WiFi access points at the top (if supported by your phone) so these are attempted first.

This applies to ShoZu Smartphone edition only.

Logo International roaming

ShoZu can stop you from accidently incurring a large data bill while overseas:

  • From the menu click Go to > Settings > Advanced > While roaming

Always suspend - Stop data transfers while overseas
Never suspend - Continue data transfers while overseas

Note: Operators in some countries share mobile towers (eg. USA) and your phone may think it is roaming when it is just using a shared tower.

Logo Start/stop ShoZu automatically

ShoZu runs in the background to allow for '1-click' and automatic sending, automatic feed downloads and geotagging. You can turn this feature on or off at any time:

  1. From the menu click Go to > Settings > Advanced
  2. Set Run in background to Yes or No

Logo Battery life

Uploading and downloading a lot of photos and videos can run your battery down. Please be aware of your battery level before heavy usage.

Logo Incoming calls

On some older networks you cannot receive a call while your phone is transferring data. This is not an issue with newer 3G networks.
